District Sports

On Monday 3rd and Thursday 6th July.  Whyteleafe School took part in the annual District Sports day event.  On the 3rd the children competed at the various Field Events, such as throwing a cricket ball, spring jump, high jump, long jump and standing triple jump.  It was lovely to see so many children enthusiastically taking part and there were some wonderful achievements by the children.

A big well done to our district champions; Eboni Booth in Year 3 rounders ball, Luke Deighton Year 3 high jump, Amy Deighton Year 5 high jump, Lily Osmore-Clarke Year 6 high jump who won their individual events

On Thursday it was time for the running events.   The events were Year 6 600m, 5&6 300m, Year 3 50m, Year 4 60m, Year 5 70m and Year 6 80 before the 4x75m relays.  As always the children from Whyteleafe School showed passion, commitment and pride with their hard and determination.

A huge well done to our new district champions Amy Deighton (600m & Year 5 girl’s relay), Lara Mottram (70m Girl sprint & Year 5 girl’s relay), Dulcie Thatcher (Year 5 girl’s relay), Jasie Killick (Year 5 Girl’s relay) and Junior Eccleston (70m Boys sprint).

Finally a big thank you from me to all the staff and parents who turned up to support us.  It takes a lot of organisation and I could not do it all without parents and teachers volunteering their time and assistance to support me.

I look forward to seeing you all at sports day.

Mr Reardon
