School Closure Updates

Dear Parents/ Carers,

I am writing to let you know we have been instructed to close the school to almost all children at the end of the school day tomorrow, Friday 20th March, until further notice.  As advised by the government, we will do all we can to stay open for the children of key workers (e.g. NHS staff, police and others in frontline services) and some of our vulnerable children.  We are waiting for the government to publish more information on what this means and we will be in touch again as soon as we are sure who this applies to. In the meantime, if you have not done so already, please email info@whyteleafeschool.org as soon as possible if you are a ‘key worker’ and will rely on educational provision in order to keep working.  All other children will need to stay at home, so we ask that you do not send your child to school from Monday 23rd March.

Attached is a letter from Jon Chaloner, GLFs CEO. The letter has gone to all GLF schools.

All assessments in primary school, including end of Key Stage 1 assessments in Year 2 and end of Key Stage 2 assessments in Year 6, phonics screening checks in Year 1 and multiplication tables checks in Year 4 will be cancelled.

Contacting School

If you need to contact the school during this period, please use the info@whyteleafeschool.org

Foodbank Vouchers - CHANGE IN LOCATION ON A THURSDAY

If you feel that your family would benefit from a Foodbank voucher, please contact us through our dedicated safeguarding email - dsl@whyteleafeschool.org

In the email you need to include:

  • how many adults and children are in your household

  • permission to share this information with Caterham Foodbank, who will store this information securely

We can then liaise with Caterham Foodbank to let them know that you need some support during this time. As you won't have a voucher, you will need to bring some ID with you when you collect the food.  You will be able to collect food once a week.

Foodbank vouchers can be picked up from:

  • Mondays 12-2pm Caterham Baptist Church, Beechwood Road

  • Thursdays 12-2pm Caterham Baptist Church, Beechwood Road * please not this is a change of location

Safeguarding

If, during the school closure, you have any safeguarding concerns for your family or another family, then please use our dedicated safeguarding email - dsl@whyteleafeschool.org

We will then endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible and offer any support we can.
